Re: Ice Cream [with chocolate sauce!]

We were in my favorite restaurant. Why favorite? The food is good, the service friendly, the location is handy and.... it's never busy!
Why is it quiet?
I mean let’s consider the factors
Last week, client and I were in there. Service attentive. Food highly tasteful. Great surroundings. Not overcrowded. Nice natural light.
Finished the mains - which were delightful.

[Server] “Dessert?” [Menu had been provided].
[Client] “Do you have ice cream?”
[S] “No.”
[C] “None?”
[S] “No, sorry. “
[C] “OK, thanks..”
[Aside to me - after departure -]
“Still flying against the wind?”
[Me] “I've tried several times - no joy! “

Are you flying against the wind? Frustrated clients trying to get what they want vs. what you provide?
Another restaurant. “Ice cream?” “We only have vanilla.” “Chocolate sauce?” “Well, we might have some if the chef has included it in tonight's offerings.” “Will you see?” “OK, I'll let you know.” I see a note at the foot of the dessert menu = “So and So - pastry chef.” I guess this place has a lot invested in me eating pastry. But I love ice cream [with chocolate sauce]. PEOPLE LOVE ICE CREAM. I think [and hear] that a lot of other people are trying to get some too. I’m feeling guilty for wanting what I want! If I get it, I’m going to snap it right down. They might take it back!
