How Does Coaching Look to Senior
Managers?
Management contacts us and discusses the candidate to determine history and goals for the intervention. The mentor asks questions concerning predisposition, coachability, and likely take of coaching plus the upside within the company if coaching works well. The prospect of coaching is broached with the candidate: the way is cleared. Management must tell the candidate why coaching is indicated and the candidate must agree. Formal arrangements are made, the mentor is introduced and chemistry between the two is assessed. Unless a potent partnership can be forged, nothing can be accomplished. Proceeding with the process, the mentor, candidate and senior management check in early to get a feel for whether the process is taking, how the candidate works with the material and what the sponsor needs to know to smooth (or rough up) the path. State of Play meetings are convened where superior, candidate and mentor review major gains, stumbling blocks and adjustments. Graduation occurs with all the ceremony and gratitude that ought to recognize accomplishment, growth and signaling of promise and new horizons. [ Top ]
